2017: The Year From Where It All Started
In 2017, Essential Addons said ‘Hello World’ to the Elementor users with a small team of Elementor enthusiasts who kicked off the exciting development journey. They believed in Elementor’s potential to revolutionize web design and building experiences and set out to create widgets and add-ons based on community requests to extend the functionalities of the website builder.

Within just a little over 1 year since its launch, Essential Addons hit the first big milestone of 100,000 happy users. And with this achievement, the team felt more pumped up to take the plugin to newer heights.
However, the team recognized a common challenge faced by web creators utilizing Elementor and its add-ons — website speed optimization – and in came a new goal: to ensure optimized website performance as well as powerful Elementor addons. In response, we introduced Essential Addons 3.0, a transformative release that revolutionized the web speed like never before for all Elementor users.
2020 – 2021: Challenges Faced, Accepted, Overcome & Hit 1 Million Users Milestone
In 2020, with the global pandemic in full swing, team Essential Addons faced challenges like everyone else in the world. However, despite the difficulties, our team worked from home and became even more laser-focused on improving our widgets to expand the plugin further. And we can vouch that some of our best additions in 2020 were the WooCommerce widgets, especially; WooCommerce Checkout.
Moving into 2021, even more people started using Essential Addons and we hit our first 1 million users, the most popular and most used Elementor addons back then too. To keep improving, we released Essential Addons 5.0 in 2021 with new widgets, enhanced user interfaces and improvements like never before.
2022 – 2023: Arrange Meetups & Celebrate Essential Addons As Top-Ranked Plugin
The growth just kept skyrocketing from there. Essential Addons celebrated its fifth anniversary while also securing a position in the top 40 plugins within the WordPress repository within the same year, and boasted over 33 million downloads by July 2022.
In 2023, Essential Addons achieved an impressive milestone, accumulating over 3,000+ 5-star reviews & also celebrated its 6th anniversary. Furthermore, it secured a position among the top 10 plugins in the Commercial Category within the WordPress plugin repository.
The achievements kept pouring in, and the team felt more energized than ever before. And that’s when we decided to host our own Elementor meetup within the local community to bring together all enthusiasts, users, developers and well-wishers. We organized the inaugural Elementor Bangladesh Meetup, a resounding success that drew an impressive crowd of over 40 attendees brimming with enthusiasm for Elementor.

My inspiration to create Essential Addons for Elementor stemmed from my extensive experience working on WordPress themes and developing addons for various page builders. At that time, Elementor and its community were on the rise, and as a UX-driven product developer, I saw an exciting opportunity to contribute.
Despite the initial challenge of the absence of a proper API, I took the initiative and managed to build a working version of Essential Addons. It was one of the first addons for Elementor. Since then, Essential Addons has evolved significantly and has become the most used Elementor addons. The journey has been rewarding, witnessing its growth and becoming an integral part of the Elementor ecosystem.
